Ivars Grīnbergs

A sculptural functional object exploring the relationship between form, surface and material.

The original object is transformed through layers of hand-applied decorative lime plaster. Rather than creating a perfectly uniform finish, the artist allows texture, irregularity and traces of the making process to remain visible.

The contrast between the dark architectural base and the warm mineral upper form gives the object an almost elemental presence — somewhere between furniture, sculpture and material study.

Each surface is created by hand, making every piece inherently unique.
