“While creating this installation, I think about the different roles a woman embodies throughout life. In my case — a woman, a mother of three sons, and a prison manager.

As psychotherapist Viesturs Rudzītis states, ‘the breast is not a sexual object, but a sacred object.’

I invite viewers to perceive this artwork in the same way. The breast is the first presence in a child’s life that offers care, warmth, security, nourishment, fulfillment, and tenderness.”
