For Collectors and Interior Designers

3 Jan, 2026, No comments

Each year, traveling to different countries, continental art fairs, and individual studios, I seek authenticity and distinction, selecting works with depth, story, and character.

I feel like a pearl hunter — in search, driven by the passion for my work and the thrill of discovering the “prize.”

This selection creates an experience appreciated by those who can sense the work’s deep notes, character, and unique signature — much like a sommelier discerning the finest wine notes, maturity, the essence of the place, and the winemaker’s conviction, which together form authenticity.

After each trip or collection, I invite you to an intimate evening where I share stories, the latest works, and the “pearls” I’ve discovered, allowing you to be part of this journey.

Individual desires and collaboration
If, during the journey or collection mapping, you express interest, I consciously pay attention to your individual preferences. Your ideas, feelings, and the character of your space become part of my selection process. I choose works that naturally integrate into your interior or collection, preserving my aesthetic, the story, and the context of the journey. This is a collaboration where you travel virtually alongside me — following the process, discoveries, and the “pearls” found, until the art takes its place in your environment.

Follow the news
Soon, my journey will take me to the great African continent art fair, where selected works will reveal new nuances and stories. Those who wish to follow this path and explore the chosen collection are invited to sign up via email or through our news section to experience it together with me.

Zane Margo

4 Nov, 2025, No comments

Zane Margo (1992), whose real name is Zane Ozoliņa, is an artist and photographer from Latvia, who cultivates her technique through self-directed exploration.

Recycled paper becomes the foundation for collages that explore deeply personal and metaphorical themes. Each work reflects an exploration of philosophical themes, emerging from a process that is both meditative and experimental. By assembling fragments of discarded materials, she transforms what was once overlooked into new visual and surreal narratives.

Work leans toward the avant-garde, inviting viewers to look beyond the surface and glimpse the quiet spaces where meaning takes shape.

While art has been an enduring element of her life since adolescence, Zane Margo formally began her artistic practice in 2025.

Liene Pčolka

4 Nov, 2025, No comments

Creativity has always been a natural part of Liene Pčolka’s life. From her school years, she was drawn to drawing, painting, and crafts — a desire to create, explore, and experience. Although she studied IT and worked in graphic design, it was in painting that she discovered her true mode of expression.

Her journey in painting began at the Jelgava Art School and continued under the guidance of Latvian painters Indulis Landau, Raitis Junkers, and Sandra Strēle. Under their mentorship, she learned to see and feel — not only form, but also mood and breath.

For Liene, painting is a dialogue with herself and the world. Her work evolves with her emotions, experiences, and the passage of time. She allows colors to speak, brushstrokes to breathe, and composition to live. Her paintings do not dictate meaning — they resonate within the viewer.

Painting is her joy, her meditation, and her freedom.

Ilze Smildziņa

4 Nov, 2025, No comments

Ilze Smildziņa holds a Master’s degree from Art Academy of Latvia. The artist has held several solo exhibitions in Latvia and Lithuania and has participated in numerous local and international group exhibitions and art competitions, including ArtParis (2011), the 6th Beijing International Art Biennale (2015, 2019), the Paint One Another Know One Another competition exhibition in Beijing (2016), and the Art Gemini finalist exhibitions in London (2017, 2018). She has also taken part in art symposia in France, Belarus, Finland, India, and Cyprus.

Ilze’s works are held in private collections in Canada, Belgium, France, Sweden, Germany, Ireland, the United States, Belarus, and Latvia, as well as in the collection of the China National Artists Association and the Luciano Benetton Collection. In 2023, she received the Gederts Eliass Grand Prize for her depiction of rural themes.

Her oil paintings depict cloud forms in their endless transformation, filling infinite expanses — painting becomes the medium through which to reach them. She captures fleeting moments of reality or events where truth and illusion intertwine, revealing what is possible and impossible at once. Yet her realistic painting manner convinces the viewer that the reflection they see is indeed reality itself.

Gints Strēlis

4 Nov, 2025, No comments

Gints Strēlis is a Latvian jewelry artist who began his creative journey while studying at the Tallinn Art Institute. His works combine influences from ancient cultures with contemporary design, working primarily with silver, 18-karat gold, and natural materials such as pebbles found on the Kurzeme seashore. The artist also incorporates gemstones, semi-precious stones, and organic elements like mother-of-pearl, ebony, and ostrich eggshells.

One of his signature techniques is silver etching, which allows him to create reliefs and symbols reminiscent of ancient petroglyph motifs. Gints Strēlis’ works have been exhibited in Latvia, the United States, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, and elsewhere, in both group and solo exhibitions.

The artist places special value on creating jewelry for a specific individual—carefully understanding each client’s wishes and taste, he crafts unique, entirely handmade pieces, each one of a kind.

“Between Two Suns” Exhibition in Panevėžys

2 Sep, 2025, No comments

In July and August 2025, my collaborative exhibition “Between Two Suns” was displayed at the Panevėžys Creativity Centre in Lithuania. This exhibition, created in partnership with Ethiopian artist Kirubel Melke, explores the intersection of our cultural backgrounds through art. I work with recycled paper to create delicate, light-infused forms, while Kirubel uses textile to continue his African heritage. Together, we address global and political themes, seeking aesthetic expression and dialogue between our cultures. The exhibition represents the differences between two suns, highlighting the contrasts between different cultures.Panevėžys Now

“Light with a Second Chance” — Featured in Diena.lv

2 Sep, 2025, No comments

In an interview with Diena.lv, I share the journey behind my brand, 0design, and how I transform recycled paper into unique lamps inspired by Latvian nature. After years in the entertainment industry, I sought a path that aligned with my values. Inspired by a transformative pilgrimage, I embraced the idea of creating something meaningful from discarded materials. Using paper scraps from local print shops, I craft lamps that not only illuminate spaces but also tell a story of sustainability and creativity.

Art Born in a Blender: Sustainable Lighting Design

2 Sep, 2025, No comments

In this Jauns.lv video, I share my process of creating unique lamps from recycled paper. Using a blender, I transform discarded paper into pulp, which I then shape into designs inspired by nature.

For me, this work is not only about aesthetics — it’s about giving new life to materials, exploring sustainability, and creating objects that carry both beauty and meaning.

Exhibition ‘Between Two Suns’ in Latvijas Radio

1 Sep, 2025, No comments

In the Media

Recently, Latvijas Radio created a piece about my joint exhibition “Between Two Suns”, held at the Institute of Design for Quality of Life “Viskaļi” in Čiekurkalns.

The exhibition is a dialogue between my work with recycled paper and textures, and the vibrant textile collages of Ethiopian artist Kirubel Melke. Although we come from very different cultures, our meeting at the Karosta Festival in Liepāja revealed many shared ideas — especially in how we both explore the use of recycled materials.

You can read (and listen to) the full story here: Latvijas Radio — “In the exhibition ‘Between Two Suns’ a Latvian and an Ethiopian meet”
